There are a wide range of Scholarships available while you study at the Faculty of Health Sciences, some of which are specifically for Indigenous students. Some of the Scholarships currently available are...

The University of Sydney Chancellor's Committee Indigenous Australian Bursaries. Available through the Koori Centre.
2 to 10
$3,000 up to $500

$3,000 fee bursaries are available to first year students. These are awarded on a needs basis.

 

$500 Hecs bursaries are only available to students who have successfully completed one year full-time study.

The University of Sydney Scholarship. Available through the USyd Scholarships.

1-5 years
Available to students that have achieved more than 95 UAI in the HSC.

Open to students in second year and above from all faculties. (Awarded in first semester and based on academic merit).

 

 

Open to postgraduate research and/or coursework students from all faculties. (Awarded in first semester and based on academic merit and/or financial need).

 

2006 Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) and University of Sydney Postgraduate Award (UPA). Available through the Research Office.

Puggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship.

Available through the Royal College of Nursing Australia

The Scheme provides financial assistance to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who undertake or intend to enrol in the study of Nursing, Medicine, Allied Health, Certificate III and IV or Diploma and Advanced Diploma Aboriginal Health Worker Course, Health Management, Postgraduate and Alternative Medicine Courses at an educational institution/University/Registered Training Organisation.
