Nurhanan is a PhD student jointly supervised by Assoc. Prof. Fazlul Huq and Dr Philip Beale.

Nurhanan is currently investigating if there is any synergism effect between cisplatin and new rule-breaker platinum compounds with selected tumour active plant compounds/ drugs in ovarian cancer cells.  A few of the plant compounds used in these studies include the active ones that exist in green tea and turmeric plants. She is also interested in investigating the reasons behind such effect if occured, at proteomic level.
