Buffer Solution
Resists changes in pH that would otherwise result from the addition of a small amount of an :
- acid
- base or
- water (ie dilution)
Consists usually of a mixture of a weak acid and its conjugate base in solution or that of weak base and its conjugate acid
Can act as both a source and a sink for H+.
