Professional Education

The program conducted within Australia
Within Australia, professional education is conducted by a consortium under the banner Continuing Professional Education in Stuttering.

This program of professional education in stuttering is conducted for speech pathologists. The program has been running since 1997 and has proved popular with clinicians within Australia and internationally. Events are conducted by researchers and clinicians from the ASRC, the Stuttering Unit at Bankstown Health Service in Sydney and the Department of Linguistics at Macquarie University. Events include workshops, teleconferences, clinic visits, and seminars. Members of the CPES team may also provide presentations to other groups, such as preschool teachers, on request.

To discuss your group's individual needs, email the CPES Coordinator or telephone (02) 9351 9061. To read more about CPES, please take the link at the top of this page.

The program conducted around the world
External to Australia, professional education is conducted by a different consortium (of which CPES is a member) this time under the banner Lidcombe Program Trainers' Consortium.

The LPTC is increasing its international coverage each year and now has representatives in the United Kingdom, Canada, New Zealand, the United States of America, Germany and Denmark, in addition to Australia.
